I've owned Original Sharp Barbershop for 10 years. Every time a chair opened, the process was the same: Instagram DMs, Craigslist posts, or relying on my own network. Every method was slow and inefficient because the industry is so fragmented. I built a professional shop, but finding talent always felt like pulling teeth.

I was interviewing barbers off a Google Form because nothing better existed. No shared place to see portfolios. No way to post pay terms clearly. No path for a great barber in the next town to find me without already knowing someone.
That broken loop is the norm in our trade. Restaurants, healthcare, and every other service industry got hiring software. Barbershops got another flier in the window.
Barber Recruit is the platform I needed behind the chair — real portfolios, real openings with real terms, and zero guesswork on either side. Built in New Jersey by someone who still cuts and still hires.
What we're building

We open shops county by county — only when enough barbers are already on the platform nearby. That way a shop that posts an opening actually gets applicants, not silence.
Middlesex and Somerset are open first. The rest of New Jersey is mapped and waiting. Barbers can join from anywhere in the state — and they never pay.
Each county we open earns the right to open the next. That's how we grow without flooding shop owners before demand is real.
